How did this come about?
How did I end up taking this home and making a project out of it?
Well to start the story...
This year for University we had to complete a community placement as part of one of our papers. 25 hours had to completed and documented each step of the way, I had emailed a few organisations about volunteering them with not much luck. I decided the food bank was the way to go! Went in, talked to Lynn and the next week I was volunteering at the food bank having the time of my life. Funnily enough, I ended up doing 50 hours of voluntary work there because that is where I wanted to be every day!
I had noticed this big dolls house in the back area of the food bank and asked about it. Lynn mentioned that a lady had brought the dolls house in to donate to the food bank and that they were trying to find someone to do it up so they could raffle it off to raise some much-needed funds. Me being me looked at it, opened it up, dreamt of being able to do it up but realised that I still had a good few weeks of Uni left for the Semester and that I wasn't going to have time.
Skip forward a few weeks, and here we are, Phillip (my partner) and I transferred the dolls house from the food bank to the back of the car and then home to sit in the den till I had some time. Now the dolls house isn't light, it takes two people to carry it and one to open doors and hold the chimney so manoeuvring it into the boot of the car, out of the car and into the house wasn't an easy task. It was decided that rainy days would be the dolls house renovation days.
